Simone Inzaghi, newly appointed head coach of Al Hilal, has endorsed a move for Victor Osimhen as the Saudi Pro League champions seek to strengthen their attacking options.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the club is now working to finalise personal terms with the Nigerian striker while it has also been revealed that the team is looking to sell current Serbian striker Aleksander Mitrovic.

Osimhen has long been on Al Hilal’s radar, with the club tabling a significant offer last summer in an attempt to lure him from Napoli. However, the move did not materialise, and the striker instead joined Turkish side Galatasaray on loan.

According to BoldSports, Al Hilal are making Osimhen a top priority as they look to secure the first major signing under former Inter Milan boss Inzaghi. The move comes after their pursuit of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes ended in rejection.

Fabrizio provided further updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that Osimhen remains one of Al Hilal’s top striker targets, and that discussions are underway to bring the forward to Saudi Arabia.

“€75m release clause available, Al Hilal are working on player side for a target now also approved by Simone Inzaghi,” Fabrizio added.

Football journalist Ben Jacobs has also weighed in, revealing that Osimhen has been presented with a lucrative contract worth approximately €30 million per season, with additional bonuses. He noted that Al Hilal see Osimhen as a central figure in their plans ahead of the upcoming Club World Cup.

Despite strong interest from Saudi Arabia, Osimhen continues to attract attention from Europe, with Manchester United reportedly still keen on the striker. However, their financial package is expected to fall short of Al Hilal’s offer.
