Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze wrapped up his season with an assist, coming off the bench to help AC Milan defeat Monza 2-0 in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday.
Samuel Chukwueze, 26, had registered his first league assist of the season during AC Milan’s comeback win against Bologna, playing a key role as the Rossoneri secured a 3-1 win in that encounter.
After suffering a groin injury that sidelined him for the next league match against Roma, Chukwueze returned in time to be included on the bench for the clash with Monza, with head coach Sergio Conceicao naming a front three of Joao Felix, Christian Pulisic, and Luka Jovic.
Despite controlling possession in the first half, AC Milan struggled to breach Monza’s resolute defense, prompting head coach Sergio Conceicao to make immediate changes at the start of the second half, bringing on Chukwueze and promising youngster Camarda in place of Yunus Musah and Luka Jovic.
The substitutions made an immediate impact, with Milan showing greater intent after the break. Chukwueze nearly opened the scoring in the 48th minute, latching onto a brilliant through ball from Felix before unleashing a shot that struck the right-hand post.
Milan eventually broke the deadlock in the 64th minute when Chukwueze whipped in a teasing cross that was perfectly met by Matteo Gabbia’s header, sending the ball into the back of the net.

Ten minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage as Portuguese forward Joao Felix curled a superb free-kick past Monza goalkeeper Pizzignacco, sealing Milan’s 18th league victory of the season.
Chukwueze’s lively end to the season, with back-to-back league assists, could attract interest from several European clubs looking to capitalise on his limited playing time at Milan and potentially secure a move for the Nigerian winger when the summer transfer window opens.
