Galatasaray Manager Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed the club is prepared to meet Napoli’s buyout clause for striker Victor Osimhen—if the Nigerian forward chooses to remain in Istanbul.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray last summer on a season-long loan following a breakdown in his relationship with Napoli. The situation left the 26-year-old with two options: go out on loan or sit out the remainder of his contract with the Italian side.
Since arriving in Turkey, Osimhen has been nothing short of sensational. He guided Galatasaray to their first Turkish Cup triumph in five years and played a key role in securing their third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title.

His impact has sparked a wave of support from the club’s fans, who have passionately appealed for him to stay. Supporters have even designed banners across the city urging the striker to sign permanently with the club.
While meeting his buyout clause may be a significant financial undertaking for Galatasaray, Manager Abdullah Kavukcu expressed the club’s intent to pursue a permanent deal, contingent on the player’s decision.
“If Victor Osimhen wants to stay at Galatasaray, we are ready to pay his transfer fee,” Kavukcu said during a press conference on Monday. “Our transfer strategy will depend on his decision.”
Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, has attracted interest from top clubs including Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and several Saudi Arabian sides. His €75 million buyout clause is expected to be activated this summer.
Despite opportunities to leave during the January transfer window, Osimhen chose to stay with Galatasaray, citing loyalty to the club for believing in him during his turbulent time in Italy.
This season, the Super Eagles star has recorded an impressive 36 goals and eight assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. He is also on course to finish as the league’s top scorer.
