Ex-Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has suggested that Nigerian winger Moses Simon should consider a move to the Premier League if he decides to leave Nantes during the summer transfer window.
Despite their struggles and current relegation battle, Moses Simon has been a standout performer for the Canaries this season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists, trailing only Gaëtan Perrin, Bradley Barcola, and Rayan Cherki — each with 10 assists — in the assist charts.
With Nantes battling relegation and the need to balance their finances, a summer move could be on the horizon for the Nigerian winger, marking the end of a notable chapter in Ligue 1 where he has spent six years.

Multiple clubs, including Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, Stade Rennais, and Everton, have shown interest in signing the 29-year-old. However, in an exclusive interview with Africafoot, Yobo encouraged Simon to take the opportunity to play in the English Premier League for the first time.
“I don’t know the truth about the reports that he wants to leave Nantes, but if he were to leave, it would have to be for the Premier League, which is where he plays next,” Yobo said.
“It’s long overdue given his ability, versatility, and experience. I mean, why not? He is, and has always been, good enough for English football; it’s long overdue. And, for me, if he were to go, it would be the highlight of his career, because it’s the best and most competitive league in the world,” he added.

According to Yobo, the reported interest from Everton could be a promising opportunity for the Nantes winger: “If the reports of Everton’s interest are true, and above all, serious, then it would be even better. I played on Merseyside for almost a decade, and I know the football culture there; it’s enormous. This would be an ideal transfer for him, as his impact and speed are well-suited to Everton.”
Since his arrival at Nantes in 2020, Moses Simon has earned a solid reputation as one of the most dangerous wingers in the league, making 199 appearances for the Canaries, netting 36 goals, and contributing 39 assists.
