… Nnadozie’s heroics end Paris’ 19-year wait for a trophy
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie emerged as the heroine for Paris FC, saving two crucial penalties in a high-stakes shootout to secure a dramatic 5-4 victory over Paris Saint-Germain and clinch the Coupe de France title on Saturday.
Heading into the final as underdogs, Paris FC held firm against PSG, keeping the match goalless after regulation time despite several defensive lapses that nearly led to goals.
Both sides pushed for a winner, but resolute defending and brilliant goalkeeping kept the deadlock intact. PSG’s Katarzyna Kiedrzynek pulled off impressive saves—first denying Kessya Bussy’s close-range effort in the 47th minute with a strong left hand, then pushing away a strike from Maëlle Garbino in the 56th minute.

With the game unresolved after full time, it went to penalties, where Paris FC triumphed 5-4. The victory came as a double celebration for the club, following their men’s team’s promotion back to the top flight earlier in the week.
Renowned for her penalty-saving prowess, Nnadozie delivered under pressure, first diving to her right to stop Korbin Albert’s attempt, then sealing the win by denying Jade Le Guilly’s decisive kick.
The triumph marks Paris FC’s first trophy in 19 years, having last lifted silverware in the 2005/06 season when they were crowned domestic league champions. It is also their second Coupe de France title, their first coming in the 2004/05 campaign.
