…Moses Simon fire blanks in 90 minutes
Moses Simon and FC Nantes are staring at a potential relegation battle after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Rennes in the Derby de la Bretagne on Friday at Roazhon Park, leaving them just three points above the drop zone.
Nantes had hoped to climb further away from relegation danger with a positive result, but fell behind in the 23rd minute after Adrien Truffert opened the scoring for the hosts. They responded well and found an equalizer in the 54th minute through Mostafa Mohamed.
However, the momentum quickly shifted again when Marcus Coco was sent off just three minutes later for a foul on Truffert, reducing Nantes to ten men.

Despite their efforts to hold on for a valuable point, Nantes were undone in the 86th minute by 17-year-old Mohamed Kader Meïté, who scored his first goal for Rennes — a late and painful blow for the visitors.
Moses Simon featured for the full 90 minutes but was unable to change the outcome.
Reacting to the defeat, Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré expressed his frustration and admitted his side might have been too conservative after going a man down.
“There’s a lot of disappointment because we felt we had that point in hand. The first half was difficult, but we made adjustments at halftime and deservedly equalized,” Kombouaré said.

“Playing with ten men for more than thirty minutes made things harder, but I believe we could have defended better and avoided that second goal.
“We knew it would be complicated coming here. We managed to make the most of the few chances we had. But going down to ten men so quickly changed everything. Now, we have to put this disappointment behind us and focus on winning our next two home games.”
