Chelsea have stepped away from the race to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, as the Premier League club shifts focus to other attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have long been in the market for a top striker, but despite strong links to several names, including Viktor Gyokeres, Ivan Toney, and Osimhen, no deal materialised last summer.
According to Caught Offside, Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen has now cooled, and the Nigerian forward is no longer considered a top target for their summer rebuild under new manager Enzo Maresca.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, remains one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. The Nigerian has continued to attract attention from elite clubs, with Manchester United and Juventus still in the hunt for his signature.
United are reportedly planning a major shake-up in attack, with the futures of Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee uncertain. Osimhen is viewed as a leading option to spearhead the Red Devils’ frontline next season.
Juventus are also interested and could make a move depending on the situation with Dusan Vlahovic, who may leave after the FIFA Club World Cup. The Italian side are banking on the strong relationship between their sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, and Osimhen’s agent to aid negotiations.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are now focusing their attention on alternative strikers, including Sporting CP’s Gyokeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap is another player being monitored after an impressive season in the Championship.
Osimhen’s next move remains uncertain, but his name is expected to dominate transfer headlines in the coming weeks. With Chelsea out of the picture, the race for the 25-year-old Nigerian international could come down to Manchester United, Juventus, and any other club willing to meet his valuation.
The 26-year-old has scored 28 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season for Turkish giants Galatasaray.
