Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu’s Southampton have parted ways with head coach Ivan Juric, effective immediately, following the team’s relegation from the Premier League on Sunday.
Southampton broke an unwanted record with the earliest relegation in Premier League history, dropping to the Championship with seven games left to play following their 3-1 loss to Tottenham. The undesirable feat surpassed Derby County, Huddersfield Town, and Sheffield United, who were relegated with six games remaining.
Ivan Juric was appointed by Southampton in December to replace Russell Martin, with the hopes that the experienced Croatian could turn their fortunes around, helping them stay in the Premier League.
However, since his appointment, Southampton have recorded 12 losses in 14 Premier League games, leading to their relegation and putting them at risk of breaking another unfortunate record — the worst points tally in Premier League history — currently held by Derby County with 11 points in the 2007-08 season.

According to reports, Simon Rusk will assume the interim head coach role at Southampton as he did in December, with Adam Lallana acting as his assistant. The club’s decision will be announced later today.
The Saints are also reportedly considering Danny Rohl, Sheffield Wednesday’s head coach, and Liam Rosenior of Strasbourg as top contenders for their long-term managerial position.
While Joe Aribo is expected to remain at the club with one year left on his current deal, Paul Onuachu may attract interest from clubs in the Premier League and across Europe, leading to his potential exit from Southampton.
