The Royal Aces Basketball Club have continued to make significant developments to their roster in preparation for the new season of the Zenith Women Nigeria Basketball Premier League.
In a major overhaul, the Royal Aces have let go of four players — Kanebi Jimoh, Oluchi Peters, Hilda James, and Akinrinmade Mofeoluwa — in a bid to assemble a competitive team capable of fighting for the league and securing a continental ticket.
The Royal Aces have filled the void left by the departing players by re-signing Anibi Peace and bringing in Igwokwo Agbenu Mary, both on one-year deals. This strategic move aims to fortify the team’s roster and enhance their overall performance. Anibi Peace’s return brings a wealth of experience and clutch gene, while Agbenu Mary injects youthful vigor and talent into the lineup.

According to sources in the club, the changes within the roster were difficult but essential: “It’s always hard to let players go, but these moves are about positioning the Aces for success this season. The focus is on building a team that can compete and deliver results.”
With Head Coach Olusegun Ojo at the helm, the Royal Aces are dedicated to developing a championship-winning strategy. The recent roster tweaks are a key component of a comprehensive plan designed to maintain the team’s competitiveness and drive continued growth within the league.
The club’s supporters will now eagerly anticipate the start of the new season, curious to see how the improved roster will perform on the court. With the addition of Anibi Peace and Agbenu Mary, expectations are high that the team will reach new heights.
As the Aces embark on this fresh chapter, their supporters will undoubtedly rally behind them, cheering them on as they pursue success in the upcoming campaign.
