Warri Wolves defender Ekene Olisema has stated that the club’s primary objective this season is to avoid relegation.
The Seasiders, who earned promotion back to the top flight for the first time since their 2021 relegation, are determined to defy the odds. According to a Bold Sports AI prediction, Wolves are tipped to drop back down along with other newly promoted sides.
The club begins its campaign against Katsina United on Sunday, and speaking ahead of the fixture, the former Lobi Stars and Plateau United centre-back emphasized the importance of taking each game as it comes.

“Warri Wolves is a well-recognized team in Nigeria and has been out of top-flight football for some time. Now we are finally back where we belong,” Olisema told Warri Wolves Fan TV, per Modzerosport.com.
“A lot of work has been put in. We are training hard, and everyone is prepared for the task ahead. Our major aim is to maintain our stay in the league, and with the help of God, everything else will fall into place.”
Once one of the NPFL’s traditional powerhouses, Warri Wolves previously featured some of the league’s top stars, including Daniel Akpeyi, Gbolahan Salami, and Azubuike Egwuekwe. Ekene Olisema will be hoping to lead a new generation of superstars at the club.
