Super Falcons send condolences to Nnadozie after elder brother’s burial

Super Falcons players have sent their condolences to goalkeeper and assistant captain Chiamaka Nnadozie following the burial of her elder brother on Friday, Bold Sports reports.

The Nigerian international had announced the tragic loss in December through an emotional post shared on her official Instagram account.

In a statement released by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, the Super Falcons expressed their sympathy and assured Nnadozie of their unwavering support during this difficult period.

“To our beloved teammate Chiamaka Nnadozie. We are deeply saddened by the passing of your elder brother. We pray that God grants you and your entire family the fortitude to bear this irreparable  loss,” the statement read.

“May his soul find eternal rest, and may God’s peace be with you during t difficult time. Please know that you’re not alone in this; your Super Falcons family stand firmly beside you.”

“We are sending you all our love, strength and prayers as you prepare to lay him to rest. We love you, stay strong sister.”

The team was represented at the burial ceremony by defender Miracle Usani, who delivered a condolence message on behalf of her teammates.

The Super Falcons will reconvene in the coming days ahead of the 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. Head coach Justin Madugu has named a 25-player squad for two upcoming international friendlies against Cameroon in the build-up to the tournament.

Both matches will be held in Yaoundé, with the first fixture scheduled for Saturday, February 28, and the second encounter set for Tuesday, March 3.
