Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has surprisingly named Dallas Mavericks superstar guard Kyrie Irving as his greatest basketball player of all time.

Boniface, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, made the revelation while responding to a fan who asked him to name his NBA GOAT.

While many fans typically lean toward legendary figures such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry, Boniface opted for a less conventional choice.

“Sorry, na Irving be my GOAT,” Boniface replied to a fan on Snapchat.

Although he may not top the list of the most globally celebrated NBA icons, Irving is widely regarded as one of the most skillful players in league history, often praised as the greatest ball handler the game has ever seen and one of the shiftiest guards of his generation.

Boniface is known to be a huge basketball enthusiast and is frequently seen wearing different NBA jerseys. Despite his love for the game, it remains unclear whether the Nigerian striker can hold his own on the court.

A first-round, No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011, Irving has also featured for the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets, and currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
