Victor Osimhen was on target for the second consecutive game as Napoli thrashed Lecce 4-0 away from how in an Italian Series A encounter on Saturday while turning down the opportunity to grab a brace from the penalty spot.
Centre-back Leo Ostigard gave the defending champions in the 16th minute of the encounter. The Nigeria international who started the game for the first time this season from the bench came on in the 46th minute for Giovanni Simeone.
He made his presence felt in the 51st minute heading home from close range with a well-taken cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Gianluca Gaetano who came on in the 83rd minute in place of Piotr Zielinski made it 3-0 in the 88th minute, while the final nail in the coffin was hammered in by another substitute Matteo Politano in the 94th minute from the penalty spot.
Osimhen had the opportunity to score a brace from the penalty spot but the Super Eagles striker instead handed the ball to teammate Politano.
Manager, Rudi Garcia has waved away any insinuation that the Nigerian decided to pass off the opportunity of scoring another goal due to the recent fracas between him and the club where he was mocked on TikTok by the club’s official account for losing a penalty.
“Not today, he was not the first choice seeing as he didn’t start the game, but someone else handed it to Politano. In any case, I usually write a list so there is an order and no war over who takes a penalty. Here it feels like the reverse, they are in a race to hand the ball over to someone else, I think I like it better that way!” Garcia told DAZN after the game.
