After going four games without a goal, Nigerian striker Akor Adams returned to scoring ways with a bang, grabbing a brace for Montpellier in their 3-0 win over Lorient away from home.
The 23-year-old scored the opener in the 30th minute. Teji Savanier made it 2-0 from the penalty spot following a foul on Mousa Al-Tamariwhile Adams completed his brace in the 89th minute to hand his team their second win of the season, the first since their victory over Lille away from home on August 19.
Adams was close to recording his first Ligue 1 hat-trick but his 95th-minute right-footed effort from outside the box headed for the left corner was saved by the goalkeeper.
Montpellier had failed to record a win in their last four league games recording two losses and two draws.
The Nigerian who was on for the entire duration of the game would be hoping to continue his scoring form when Montpellier welcomes Clermont Foot to Stade de la Mosson next Sunday.
