Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu extended his remarkable scoring run to six consecutive matches as Trabzonspor fought back to defeat Gaziantep 2-1 in their Super Lig encounter on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian international netted the winning goal shortly after his side restored parity, ensuring the visitors closed the gap on league leaders Galatasaray to seven points.
Gaziantep made an impressive start, taking the lead in the 22nd minute through Mohamed Bayo. However, Trabzonspor responded almost immediately, with Felipe Augusto drawing them level just two minutes later to make it 1-1.
Trabzonspor completed the turnaround in the 27th minute when Onuachu reacted quickest inside the box to score from close range. The goal marked his 35th for the club, elevating him to fifth place among Trabzonspor’s highest-scoring foreign players in history.

Onuachu’s effort ultimately proved decisive, as neither side managed to find the net again. Trabzonspor could not extend their first-half tally, while the hosts failed to capitalise on their opportunities despite sustained pressure.
The victory keeps Trabzonspor third in the Super Lig standings with 48 points. They now trail second-placed Fenerbahçe by four points and leaders Galatasaray by seven, while Gaziantep sit ninth after suffering their ninth defeat of the campaign.
Onuachu has now recorded 17 league goals this season and 18 across all competitions. The 31-year-old remains the Super Lig’s top scorer and is on track for one of the most prolific campaigns of his career.
