Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu will aim to extend his scoring streak to six consecutive matches when Trabzonspor face Gaziantep on Sunday, as they look to reduce the gap on league leaders Galatasaray.
The Nigerian striker has been in outstanding form since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), netting six goals in his last five appearances across multiple competitions.
Overall, Onuachu has scored 16 league goals this season, placing him joint top of the Super Lig scoring charts alongside Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov. The 31-year-old is enjoying his most prolific league campaign since the 2021–22 season, when he netted 21 goals for Genk.

Trabzonspor currently sit third in the league with 45 points, 10 points behind leaders Galatasaray who lost to Konyaspor at home on Saturday, giving others below them the chance to close the gap. Gaziantep, meanwhile, are ninth with 28 points and have managed just one win in their last five league outings.
Trabzonspor will be eager to make the most of this opportunity to boost their hopes of staying in the title race. Anything short of all three points would represent a significant setback for Fatih Tekke’s men.
Apart from Onuachu, another Nigerian Chibuike Nwaiwu is expected to be in action. The defender has grown into a key player for Trabzonspor, starting seven straight games and providing an assist in his most recent outing against Fenerbahçe.

The 22-year-old will be looking to continue his impressive form in defense as the visitors eye a crucial victory that could be pivotal in their pursuit of a first Super Lig title since the 2021–22 campaign.
