Super Eagles striker Akor Adams provided a fine assist as Sevilla secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday, bringing an end to their three-match winless streak in the La Liga, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian International, who has enjoyed an impressive run of form in recent weeks, once again made his presence felt for the Spanish side. His latest contribution means he has now registered four goal involvements in his last six appearances, while Sevilla celebrated only their fourth away win of the campaign.
Getafe were dealt an early setback when midfielder Djené was shown a straight red card in the 26th minute, forcing the hosts to play the majority of the encounter with ten men. Despite dominating possession thereafter, Sevilla struggled to carve out clear-cut chances as Getafe sat deep and defended resolutely.
This continued into the second half with the visitors controlling the ball but lacking cutting edge in the final third. The breakthrough, however, finally arrived in the 64th minute when Adams received a pass from Adnan Januzaj and cleverly teed up Djibril Sow, who rifled a first-time effort into the net to make it 1-0.

In response, Getafe made a couple of attacking substitutions in a bid to salvage a result, but their efforts proved futile as they slumped to their 12th league defeat of the season.
The victory lifts Sevilla above Getafe into 11th place on the table with 29 points, moving them five points clear of the relegation zone ahead of next Sunday’s clash against Real Betis.
Adams’ assist takes his tally to six goals and three assists in just 13 La Liga starts this season. It represents his most productive league campaign since 2023, when he netted 15 times for Lillestrøm.
