Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye recorded his 10th clean sheet of the season as Udinese secured a 2-0 victory over Cagliari in their Serie A Matchday 35 clash at the Unipol Domus on Saturday.

Adam Buksa put Udinese ahead in the 56th minute before Idrissa Gueye sealed the win deep into stoppage time in the 96th minute, earning the visitors their 14th league victory of the campaign. The result moves Udinese up to ninth place on the Serie A table with three matches remaining this season.

Okoye delivered another commanding performance between the sticks, making three crucial saves from five shots on target to preserve his clean sheet, especially as Cagliari pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages.

The milestone marks Okoye’s best season yet in Italy, as he equals his career-best tally of 10 clean sheets – a feat he previously achieved during the 2020/21 campaign with Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Since joining Udinese from Watford in the summer of 2022, Okoye has grown into one of the club’s standout performers after struggling to cement a starting role in England.

His impressive form has reportedly drawn attention from top clubs, including Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Premier League side Bournemouth.
