Akor Adams scored a late winning goal for Sevilla as they came from behind to defeat Espanyol 2-1 in their La Liga clash on Saturday, taking them three points clear of the relegation zone.
The Super Eagles striker now has nine goals and three assists in 29 La Liga appearances this season. Meanwhile, Sevilla have won back to back league games for the first time since October 2025.
Espanyol had taken the lead in the 56th minute through Tyrhys Dolan. The English forward scored his second La Liga goal this season to make it 1-0.
In the 75th minute, Akor Adams was introduced as Sevilla tried to turn the game around. The substitution changed the match instantly, as the hosts completed a remarkable comeback.
In the 82nd minute, the hosts got a crucial equaliser through Andrés Lopez, making it 1-1. Sevilla sealed the comeback with a 91st-minute winner from Akor Adams, who found the net with a brilliant finish to make it 2-1.

The result sees Sevilla jump from 17th to 12th in the La Liga with 40 points. They also go above Espanyol, who now sit 13th with 39 points.
With just three matches left to play, Sevilla are now very close to securing their stay in the top flight. They will face Villarreal, Real Madrid, and Celta Vigo in their final three games.
