D’Tigress center Lauren Ebo believes that the team has what it takes to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Nigeria would be hoping to be one of the 12 teams to play in the women’s basketball event of the multi-sports event but would need to earn their way via the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp, Belgium from February 8 to 11.

Nigeria’s first game will be against arch-rivals Senegal who they beat in 2023 to lift their fourth consecutive Women Afrobasket trophy in Rwanda before facing defending champions the United States who have already qualified for the tournaments as defending champions and host Belgium.
The top three teams in the group go through while the bottom team gets eliminated, however, Ebo, insists that despite the huge challenge in front of the team, D’Tigress has the quality to book a ticket to Paris 2024.
“We are facing some formidable opponents in our journey to the Olympics. I am confident that our dedicated preparation will lead us to success, allowing us to once again make our country proud.”
The team is currently in high spirits and would be hoping to return to the Olympics after featuring in the 2020 edition in Tokyo.
