Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho is confident about securing all three points against South Africa in their upcoming World Cup qualifier later today.
With a slow start to their qualification campaign, the team will be looking forward to securing their first win in Group C, a win that will take them to the summit of the table from their current fourth position.

Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualification attempt got off to a slow start after recording two draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in their first two qualifying games. The team further dropped to 4th on the log after Benin’s 1-0 win over log leaders Rwanda.
However, Iheanacho, who was part of the team that failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, believes that the team has learned from their past mistakes and is now better prepared to succeed.
“Qualifying for the World Cup is a significant achievement, and we’re ready to give it our all,” Iheanacho said in a press conference in Uyo.
“We know what it takes to qualify, and we’re more determined than ever. Although we missed out on the last World Cup, we’ve grown stronger as a team and are ready to fight for qualification.”
