Odion Ighalo continued his impressive form in front of goal in the Saudi Pro League grabbing a brace for Al Hilal in their 2-0 win away at Anthony Nwakaeme’s Al Feiha on Tuesday at the Al Majma’ah Sports City.
Ighalo’s goals came almost at the end of both halves. He grabbed the first opener of the night in the 45th minute of the first half while his second was scored in the 92nd minute sending his side to third on the league table, one point ahead of former club Al Shabab who sit in fourth, seven points behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in second and eight points adrift of table toppers Al Ittihad.
The former Manchester United striker has scored seven goals in his last four league games taking his season tally to 16 in 18 games and 18 in 23 appearances across all competitions. The brace also returns him to the top of the league’s top scorers chart tied with Al Nassr’s Brazilian striker Talisca.
He had scored a brace to help his side to a 2-0 win over Al Khaleej over the weekend taking the number of braces he’s scored this season to three.
Ighalo’s compatriot Anthony Nwakaeme was in action for the entire duration of the game for Al Feiha but despite creating three chances, he was on the losing side. Nwakaeme’s eight goals from 16 appearances this season has helped pull his side out of the relegation waters with nine games till the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
