Italian football agent Andrea D’Amico believes Nigeria international and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is the best striker in the world and better than Manchester United goal machine and English Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland.
D’Amico has represented former football greats such as Gianluca Vialli, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Del Piero, Francesco Toldo, Fabio Cannavaro, Alberto Aquilani, Maxi López, Oliver Bierhoff amongst others. The Italian has also sensationally stated that the Nigerian will join French giants Paris Saint-Germain should Lionel Messi leave the club at the end of the season.
Osimhen has been in superb form for Napoli this season scoring 25 goals in 29 games across all competitions while Haaland who has taken the Premier League by storm since joining City in the summer from Germany’s Borussia Dortmund has found the back of the net 42 times in 37 appearances in all competitions but despite the frightening numbers amassed by the Norwegian, D’Amico believes that Osimhen is ahead of him.
“Right now, he (Osimhen) is the best striker in the world, even better than Haaland. But assessments regarding the market will be made in the summer,” D’Amico said during an interview with the radio program Tutti Convocati per FootballItalia.
Osimhen is one of the hottest commodities in Europe at the moment with clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal PSG, Bayern Munich and a host of others vying for his signature, however, the respected Italian agent who manages Juventus duo Sebastian Giovinco and Nicolò Fagioli feels the Nigerian will land in Paris.
“I think he won’t lack options, especially in England even if PSG can’t be underestimated, because they could lose an important player in attack. I think Messi will go to Miami, but this is only my feeling,” D’Amico said during an interview with the radio program Tutti Convocati.
The 24-year-old is on the verge of helping Napoli claim their first title since the 1989/90 season. He sustained a muscle injury while representing Nigeria during the last international break and the Italians will be hoping he returns on time to face rivals AC Milan in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.
