Galatasaray have begun fresh round of negotiations with Napoli today as they continue efforts to finalise a deal for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Turkish champions remain determined to secure Osimhen’s services following several rejected bids, with Napoli insisting that the striker’s full release clause must be met before sanctioning a sale.

Galatasaray’s latest offer reportedly matches the release clause amount, but the structure of the payment remains an issue. The deal includes an initial €45 million payment, followed by two €17.5 million installments.

The Istanbul-based club’s pursuit has been buoyed by Osimhen’s desire to remain at the club after an impressive loan spell last season, during which he established himself as a key figure.

Despite receiving interest from other top European clubs and turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, Osimhen has opted to commit to Galatasaray, having already agreed personal terms on a deal that runs until 2028, with an option for an additional year.

Galatasaray are hopeful that ongoing discussions will lead to a breakthrough in the coming days. Napoli, on their part, are expected to reinvest the funds from Osimhen’s sale into a move for Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez, who has emerged as their top target to replace the Nigerian.

Should Galatasaray successfully land Osimhen, they are expected to end Álvaro Morata’s loan spell, paving the way for the Spanish striker to complete a transfer to Serie A side Como.
