Everton reveals Alex Iwobi out for three weeks with ankle injury

Everton have confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi will be out injured for three weeks.

Everton revealed this via the club’s website on Sunday.

“Alex Iwobi is expected to be out for around three weeks with the ankle ligament injury sustained against Manchester United on Friday.

“The Everton midfielder was taken off on a stretcher early in the second half of the FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.

“Scan results on Saturday confirmed a lateral ligament injury that will be managed conservatively by the Club’s medical team at Finch Farm,” the club wrote.

Iwobi was tackled by United’s Tyrell Malacia, catching the ankle of the Nigerian after earlier getting to the ball first, causing him to be stretchered off in the 51st minute of the game.
