Napoli have reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, while their current star forward Victor Osimhen remains in limbo, hoping for a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano stated this in a post on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday.
Romano said despite the uncertainty surrounding Osimhen’s move to PSG the Italian side are not relenting in their pursuit of Lukaku and are waiting on Chelsea to sanction the deal.
“Napoli are not changing their plans on Romelu Lukaku, after three-year deal agreed they want to proceed as soon as possible,” Romano said.
He however added that the situation with Osimhen is more complex with the Nigerian keen on a move.
“Victor Osimhen still wants PSG, deal in stand-by as PSG won’t pay the clause or include Kang-in Lee in the deal… but Osimhen keeps waiting.”
Reports had suggested Osimhen was close to a move to PSG, with the Nigerian striker reportedly agreeing to a €14m per year salary with the French champions. The transfer was seen as a potential preparation for the eventual departure of Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Things however changed after PSG became reluctant to pay the €130m release clause for the 25-year-old.
