Taiwo Awoniyi would be hoping to help Nottingham Forest win two consecutive Premier League games for the first time in 24 years when they visit Arsenal at the Emirates later today.
Forest last recorded back to back wins in the Premier League in the 1998/99 season where they only managed a total of seven wins out of 38 games on their way to finishing bottom of the league.
Awoniyi who is expected to be in the starting line-up has scored the winner in Forest’s only two wins of the season with the last coming last weekend against Liverpool at the City Ground, a game that ended 1-0.
The Nigeria international will be hoping to score for the second consecutive game against an Arsenal side who are yet to keep a clean sheet at home this season, and are on the back of a loss and a draw in their last two games in all competitions.
However, Forest’s hopes of winning a second consecutive Premier League game may seem tough to achieve as Arsenal are yet to lose a game at home this season and are also looking to get the maximum points so as to return to the top of the table after Manchester City went top after a 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Awoniyi has scored three goals in 11 league games for the newcomers this season.
