While Mercy Genesis fell short of qualifying this time, Nigeria will still be well-represented by five exceptional women wrestlers in Paris.

This quartet joins Odunayo Adekuoroye, who previously qualified with a bronze medal at the World Championships in Belgrade last September. With a mix of experience and rising stars, the Nigerian team has high hopes for medals in Paris.

Veteran Blessing Oborududu, a silver medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Games, brings invaluable experience. Odunayo Adekuoroye, with her near miss in Tokyo, will be aiming to finally reach the podium this time around.

This journey to Paris wasn’t easy. The Nigerian team dominated the past 12 days, conquering both the African Games in Accra and the Senior African Wrestling Championships in Alexandria.
