Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, is in for a fresh start at Torino after playing the entire 90 minutes in the Turin side’s 2-1 away victory over newly promoted Monza on Saturday.
Aina had endured a difficult time at the club last season after returning from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon as he was relegated to the bench by manager Ivan Juric.
He made just five appearances for the side after returning from the AFCON while he was on the bench 11 times as against the first half of the season where he featured in all but two games out of 19.
Aina was deployed in the left wing position against Monza and he put up an impressive performance for the side.
Several clubs in the English Premier League including Fulham, Leeds, and Crystal Palace had made bids for the Nigeria international and despite the defender’s willingness to leave even on loan, Torino opted not to listen to offers from clubs for the player.
