Rangers International earned a 1–1 draw at Rivers United on Sunday despite finishing with 10 men after goalscorer Godwin Obaje was sent off, Bold sports reports.
Chijioke Mbaoma put Rivers ahead in the 18th minute at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Obaje brought Rangers level in the 54th minute, but his afternoon changed when he received a straight red card in the 71st.
The champions nevertheless held on to claim a point from the meeting between two of the NPFL’s leading sides.

The result moved both teams to 18 points. Rivers remained ahead of Rangers in the standings reported immediately after the encounter.
For Rivers, the draw followed their 2–1 defeat at Bendel Insurance in the previous round, which had ended their unbeaten start.
Mbaoma’s opening goal placed them on course for a response, but Obaje’s equaliser prevented the hosts from returning to winning ways.
Rangers, meanwhile, recovered from conceding first and then protected their position after losing their scorer for the closing stages.
The outcome left the two clubs level on points following another closely contested fixture near the top of the table.
