Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has hinted that he would love to remain at Ajax Amsterdam beyond his current loan spell, but insists that any decision regarding his future rests with the two clubs.
The Nigerian international continued his impressive form for the Dutch side, scoring the opener in their 2-0 victory over Serie A outfit Atalanta, securing their first win of the 2026/27 Conference League campaign.
Arokodare, who came on as a 66th-minute substitute for Marcos Leonardo, broke the deadlock in the 87th minute, calmly slotting the ball into the net after receiving a brilliant through ball from Youri Baas. He then turned provider, setting up Abdellah Ouazane for a 93rd-minute goal to seal the victory.

Although Arokodare has scored in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifying matches, the strike marked his first goal in the main phase of any of the three competitions in seven appearances. It was also the first European competition goal of 17-year-old Ouazane.
Since joining Ajax on loan from English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer, Arokodare has made an impressive impact in Amsterdam, recording eight goals and three assists in 13 appearances across all competitions this season.
His performances have quickly made him a fan favourite and an influential figure in the dressing room, prompting calls from supporters for Ajax to make his stay permanent.
Speaking about his future after Tuesday’s victory over Atalanta, Arokodare acknowledged that the decision would be down to Ajax and Wolves, while expressing his desire to remain at the Dutch club.
“It is between Ajax and Wolves. I like it here, I love it here. The people are amazing, the fans are amazing, the team is amazing, the club is amazing,” he said.
The victory also marked a personal milestone for the Super Eagles forward, as his goal took his tally to 100 career goals at club level.
