MK Dons Women’s captain Favour Omenazu has received her first international call-up to the Super Falcons, fulfilling her long-held ambition of representing Nigeria at senior level.
The versatile midfielder’s invitation was confirmed by MK Dons on Monday, with the club revealing that Omenazu has been selected for Nigeria’s upcoming 2028 Olympic qualifying double-header against Comoros.
“We are all incredibly proud of #MKDonsWomen’s captain, Favour Omenazu, who has received her first international call-up to represent Nigeria’s Super Falcons,” the club wrote on their social media platforms.
“Favour has been selected for Nigeria’s upcoming 2028 Olympic qualifying double-header against Comoros on Friday 9th and Tuesday 13th October.”
“Go and smash it, Favour – we know you will,” the post concluded.
The Super Falcons also confirmed that Omenazu is already in camp in Ikenne, where she is part of a list of 14 players currently preparing for the two qualification fixtures against Comoros.
Despite being eligible to represent England, Omenazu has previously made her desire to play for Nigeria clear, describing a Super Falcons call-up as a proud moment for herself and her family.
“It would be a proud moment because that’s where I am from, that’s where my family is from,” Omenazu told AYSuga in an exclusive interview released on February 19, 2026.
“Everybody back home would be ready to go to any games, support in any way they can, and it would mean so much to give back to my heritage and where I come from. So it would be amazing.
“The interest has always been not only to play at the highest level. One of my goals is to play for my national team, represent my country and do well. I want to contribute to the success that we already have,” she added.

A product of Leicester City WFC, Omenazu has established herself as a hardworking and adaptable player since beginning her football journey with Bugbrooke St Michaels, Northampton Town and Stourbridge before joining MK Dons.
Although primarily a midfielder, the MK Dons captain has also impressed at right-back, where her pace, strength and defensive awareness have made her a valuable option.
Her first call-up now gives Omenazu the opportunity to turn a long-standing ambition into reality as Nigeria begin their journey towards the 2028 Olympic Games.
