Kelechi Iheanacho has set a new personal scoring record after finding the net in six straight league games for Bursaspor in the Turkish 1. Lig. The Super Eagles forward achieved the feat during Monday’s 2-1 comeback win over Manisa FK.
Iheanacho has scored eight goals and supplied two assists in six league appearances. He has scored against Bodrum FK, Iğdır FK, Fatih Karagümrük, Kayserispor, İstanbulspor and Manisa FK. His latest brace took his season tally to eight goals.
Iheanacho Delivers Another Match-Winning Display
Bursaspor fell behind when Cheikne Sylla scored in the 20th minute. Iheanacho responded seven minutes later.
The Nigerian striker controlled the attack and levelled the contest. He then struck again in stoppage time.
His 90th-minute winner completed Bursaspor’s comeback. The result gave the club its third consecutive league victory.
The performance also underlined Iheanacho’s growing influence. He has contributed directly to 10 of Bursaspor’s goals this season.

Bursaspor now sit second in the 1. Lig. They have 15 points from six matches. League leaders Batman Petrolspor have 16 points.
A First Six-Match Scoring Streak
According to Opta data, Iheanacho had never scored in six consecutive matches during his professional career.
His previous spells at Leicester City and Celtic produced strong scoring runs. However, neither matched his current sequence.
The 29-year-old has now scored eight times in six league games. He also has two assists during that period.
The run comes after Iheanacho joined Bursaspor during the summer. He left Celtic and signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club. The Turkish Football Federation lists his Bursaspor contract from July 18, 2026, through June 30, 2029.
Bursaspor signed him after he helped Celtic win the Scottish domestic double. The move gave the Nigerian forward a fresh challenge in Turkey.
Iheanacho Leads Bursaspor’s Promotion Push
Bursaspor returned to the second tier after winning promotion last season. The club has made another promotion a major target this campaign.
Iheanacho’s form has strengthened that ambition. Bursaspor have won five of their six league matches.
His next challenge will be maintaining that consistency. Bursaspor face Esenler Erokspor in their next league fixture on September 13.
For the Super Eagles forward, the current run could also strengthen his case for a return to Nigeria’s national-team plans.
