Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has opened up an opportunity for footballers in Nigeria to earn additional income through the betPawa Locker Room Bonus programme.
The emPawa Africa founder announced the initiative on his official X page, revealing that players whose teams compete in the first or second division of Nigerian football can apply to be part of the programme.
“By the way if your team is in 1st or second division of Nigerian football and you want to be part of our @LockerRoomBonus program that gives N50k to every player directly after every game won, contact us directly let’s go,” he wrote.
The Locker Room Bonus is designed to turn sporting performance into immediate and transparent financial incentives, with players receiving direct rewards after validated victories.

The initiative could provide an important additional source of income for footballers in Nigeria, particularly those playing in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria National League (NNL), where player earnings can vary significantly between clubs.
With players potentially receiving ₦50,000 after every league victory, consistent performances and team success could translate into meaningful additional earnings over the course of a season. Beyond the financial benefit, the incentive could also encourage players to maintain higher levels of performance and competitiveness throughout the campaign.
The programme could equally add another layer of competitiveness to the NPFL and NNL. With every victory carrying a direct financial reward for players, teams could have an added motivation to fight for results, while players may be encouraged to maintain intensity and commitment across matches.
According to the programme’s official website, Locker Room Bonus is currently active in eight African countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
The initiative has rewarded 7,214 players across 25 active leagues in five different sports, with every payment tracked and published on the betPawa Locker Room Bonus website.
So far, a total of $1,942,977 has been distributed to players through the programme, representing a 75.9 per cent increase from the previous year.
Although the programme was launched more than three years ago in other African countries, Nigeria joined the initiative last year. Since its arrival in the country, more than ₦258 million has reportedly been distributed to players.
Mr Eazi’s latest announcement could therefore see more Nigerian footballers benefit from the programme, while potentially making match victories more financially rewarding for players competing in the country’s top two divisions.
If widely adopted across the NPFL and NNL, the initiative could serve as an additional incentive for players, complement existing club salaries and bonuses, and contribute to a more competitive domestic football environment.
