Hull City midfielder Tim Iroegbunam believes his team can stun Arsenal when both sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday, November 7, Bold sports reports.
The Nigerian-eligible midfielder heads into the encounter after scoring in Hull City’s 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town on October 31. He has registered one goal in seven Premier League appearances this season. His latest contribution could prove important as Sergej Jakirovic’s side prepare for a difficult trip to the Emirates Stadium.
Iroegbunam confident ahead of Arsenal encounter
Arsenal enter the fixture as league leaders following their 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. Mikel Arteta’s side will seek another important result as they pursue the Premier League title.
However, Iroegbunam believes Hull City can challenge the North London outfit.

“That’s one of those games where they’re expected to win almost, so we’ll just give it our all,” the former Aston Villa youngster said.
“It’s not like it hasn’t been done before; like they haven’t been beaten, it’s possible. We’ll give it our all, and we’ll see what happens.”
He also highlighted the unpredictable nature of the Premier League.
“We know they’re a good side, but in the Premier League, anyone can beat anyone. We’ll go into the game looking to win, as we do with every game, and whatever happens will happen.”
Hull City will need a strong collective performance to trouble Arsenal. Nevertheless, Iroegbunam believes his teammates have enough flexibility to compete against different opponents.
Jakirovic’s tactical flexibility offers encouragement
Hull City’s recent encounter with Ipswich also provided an insight into their tactical options.
Jakirovic switched to his preferred 4-3-3 formation at half-time. The adjustment improved the Tigers’ attacking threat, particularly following Matt Crooks’ introduction.
Iroegbunam believes the tactical flexibility within the squad gives them different ways to approach difficult fixtures.

“I feel like that’s just up to the manager, whatever he feels, what formation will be best suited for whatever game we play,” he added.
“Last season they played both a four and five at the back, so it just shows how flexible we can be in playing in different positions, different formations.”
Iroegbunam edges closer to Super Eagles switch
Away from club football, Iroegbunam’s international future has attracted attention in Nigeria.
The 23-year-old was born in Birmingham to Nigerian parents. He has represented England at youth level, featuring for the country’s Under-19 and Under-20 teams.
However, he remains eligible to represent Nigeria at senior international level, subject to FIFA’s eligibility regulations.
For now, his immediate responsibility remains with Hull City. And Saturday’s encounter offers another opportunity to demonstrate his quality against one of England’s leading sides.
