Brighton & Hove Albion have stepped up their pursuit of Millwall winger Femi Azeez. The Premier League club wants to sign the Nigeria international before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, Bold Sports reports.
Brighton’s interest follows Azeez’s strong 2025/26 campaign. He scored 11 goals and supplied seven assists for Millwall. His performances earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season. He also scored twice for Nigeria against Zimbabwe in a 2-0 Unity Cup win.
Brighton have already submitted two formal bids for Azeez. Their latest proposal stands at just above £10 million.
Millwall, however, value the 25-year-old much higher. The Championship club considers Brighton’s latest offer significantly below its asking price.
The Seagulls remain determined to reach an agreement. They hope to complete the deal before the window closes at 11pm BST on Tuesday.
Azeez joined Millwall from Reading in August 2024. The transfer cost the club around £1 million.
He now has 24 months remaining on his Millwall contract. His current situation has attracted interest from several clubs.
The Nigeria international has made his preference clear. Azeez wants to move to Brighton and prioritises the Amex Stadium.
The winger sees the transfer as an opportunity to play Premier League football. Brighton currently appear to be his preferred destination.
Hull City have also shown previous interest in the Nigerian. Brighton, though, have pushed their pursuit further.
Azeez started the new season with Millwall. He featured in their 2-0 opening-day victory over Bristol City.
Azeez’s club form also earned him his first Super Eagles call-up. He made an immediate impact after receiving his international opportunity.
He scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe. He then played an important role in the Super Eagles’ Unity Cup final victory over Jamaica.
His international breakthrough added further attention to his club performances.
Brighton now face a race against time. Millwall must decide whether the improved proposal meets their valuation.
If the transfer goes through, Azeez would become Brighton’s second Nigerian signing this summer.
