Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin has confirmed her departure from Galatasaray Women after two seasons with the Turkish club. The Nigeria international announced the decision on Monday, August 24, 2026, bringing her spell in Turkey to an end.
Demehin leaves after WAFCON campaign
Demehin recently featured for Nigeria at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She started Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Zambia but received a red card in the 40th minute. The Super Falcons still held on for the win.
She later returned from suspension for Nigeria’s quarter-final clash with Cameroon. The Super Falcons eventually exited the tournament after losing to Cameroon.
The centre-back joined Galatasaray in 2024. She arrived from French side Stade de Reims after her contract expired. The Turkish club initially handed her a one-year deal.
Galatasaray then extended Demehin’s contract in 2025. She had made 28 appearances across competitions during her debut season. She also scored once for the club.

Demehin used social media to confirm her exit. She also reflected on her time with the Istanbul-based club.

Her departure ends a notable chapter in the career of the former Rivers Angels defender.

Demehin has not yet announced her next club. Her experience in France, Turkey and with the Super Falcons could make her an attractive option in the transfer market.
The 24-year-old defender has also built considerable international experience. She featured for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games.
