Victor Osimhen continued his impressive start to the 2026/27 season, scoring twice and providing an assist as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor in their Super Lig clash on Friday.
The Nigerian striker had also scored twice in Galatasaray’s opening league fixture against Çorum, but his brace was not enough to secure victory as the champions were held to a 2-2 draw.
Determined to bounce back, Galatasaray made a fast start and took the lead after just 12 minutes through Rolland Sallai.
Osimhen then turned provider eight minutes later, showing his unselfishness to tee up Yunus Akgün, who made no mistake to double the visitors’ advantage.

Osimhen got his name on the scoresheet just before halftime after capitalising on a costly mistake by the Erzurumspor goalkeeper. The striker won possession before calmly passing the ball into an empty net to put Galatasaray 3-0 ahead.
He completed his brace in the 80th minute, finishing from close range after being picked out by Gabriel Sara to cap a dominant performance and seal all three points for the champions.
The victory moves Galatasaray to the top of the Super Lig with four points from their opening two matches, while Erzurumspor remain bottom after suffering two defeats, conceding seven goals without scoring.
Osimhen has now registered four goals and one assist in just two league appearances this season, underlining his importance to Galatasaray’s title defence.
The Nigerian forward will look to maintain his excellent form when Galatasaray welcome Göztepe on Saturday, August 29.
