Nigerian-eligible defender Mofe Jemide has completed his move from Crystal Palace to FC Alverca. The Portuguese Primeira Liga club confirmed the permanent transfer on August 20, 2026.
The 19-year-old centre-back leaves Palace after six years with the Premier League club. He joined their academy at 13 and progressed through the youth ranks. Palace also confirmed his departure on their official website.
Jemide made 20 appearances for Crystal Palace’s Under-21 side last season. He also contributed to their run in the Premier League 2 playoffs and Premier League International Cup.

His season included 14 Premier League 2 appearances. He also recorded one assist during the campaign.
The defender also featured in Palace’s first-team pre-season activities. He travelled with the squad for tours in the United States, Austria and Como.
However, he never made a competitive first-team appearance for the Eagles.
Jemide previously helped Palace’s Under-21s win the Premier League International Cup. He started their 1-0 final victory over PSV Eindhoven during the 2023-24 season.
FC Alverca see Jemide as a modern centre-back. He offers composure when building attacks from deep. He also handles one-on-one situations well.
The defender holds both Nigerian and English nationality. He has represented England at youth level.
Jemide played at the 2023 European Under-17 Championship. He later progressed to England’s Under-20 team.
His move to Portugal now gives him a fresh opportunity. He will look to establish himself in senior football with Alverca.
Jemide has already outlined his ambition after completing the transfer.
”I am here to help FC Alverca soar higher and leave its mark in the Primeira Liga.”
The move ends Jemide’s long association with Crystal Palace. It also begins a new chapter in Portugal.
