Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has extended his contract with Molde, committing his future to the Norwegian club until the summer of 2031, Bold Sports reports.
Molde announced the new deal on Thursday, handing the 19-year-old a long-term contract after he impressed with a series of strong performances since returning to action.
Daga joined Molde in January 2025 and has since made 22 appearances for the club, contributing five goals and one assist.
The midfielder endured a difficult period after a sexual assault-related case ruled him out of action for more than nine months. He was subsequently acquitted of all charges before making his return to competitive football in July 2026.

Since returning, Daga has quickly reminded Molde of his qualities with two goals in five matches, earning praise for his performances and convincing the club to secure his long-term future.
“First of all, I thank God. I am very happy to have signed a new contract. I feel incredibly comfortable in Molde, and the club has a big place in my heart. We have a fantastic group of players and an exciting future ahead of us. I am proud to continue the journey and fight for this jersey,” Daniel Daga said after signing his new contract.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening in Molde that I want to be a part of. At the same time, I feel that this is the right place for me to continue my development. I would like to thank the club, the support staff and the supporters. Now I am looking forward to the continuation,” he added.
Molde sporting director Ole Jakob Strandhagen also expressed his delight at securing Daga on a long-term deal, highlighting the youngster’s potential for further development.
“Daniel is a young and ambitious player with qualities that already make him important to us. At the same time, we believe that he has great potential for further development. He is willing to learn, works very purposefully every day and has a strong desire to improve,” Strandhagen said.
“We have great faith in Daniel’s further development, and the club will provide good conditions for him to continue to take new steps. The fact that we have now entered into a long-term agreement shows that both Daniel and the club have faith in the sporting collaboration and the way forward. We are very happy about that.”
The new agreement represents a significant show of faith from Molde in the Nigerian midfielder, who will now look to build on his promising start and establish himself as an important figure for the club in the years ahead.
