‎Nigerian international Toni Payne has completed a move to Inter Milan Women, ending her stay at Everton ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Boldsports report.

The Serie A Femminile club confirmed the signing on Saturday, announcing that the Super Falcons midfielder has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until 30 June 2028.

‎The 31-year-old arrives in Italy after spending last season with Everton in the Women’s Super League. Her transfer also comes at an important stage of her international career after earning a place in Nigeria’s 25-player squad for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco. Payne remains one of the Super Falcons’ experienced midfielders, having represented the national team since making her senior debut in 2021.

‎Born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Nigerian parents, Payne began her European journey in 2017 when she joined Ajax from the United States. One year later, she moved to Spanish side Sevilla, where she enjoyed the most productive spell of her club career.

‎Between 2018 and 2024, she made 168 appearances and scored 30 goals for Sevilla. Those performances established her as one of the club’s most reliable players before she secured a move to Everton.

‎Although Payne represented the United States at Under-17 level, she later committed her international future to Nigeria. Since her Super Falcons debut in 2021, she has featured regularly in major international competitions and has become an important member of the squad.

‎Inter announced the transfer in an official statement, saying:

‎”FC Internazionale Milano is pleased to announce the signing of Antionette Oyedupe ‘Toni’ Payne. The Nigerian forward, born in 1995, has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2028.”

‎The move strengthens Inter’s squad ahead of the new Serie A Women season while giving Payne a fresh challenge in another of Europe’s top leagues.

‎She will now aim to carry that momentum into the 2026 WAFCON, where Nigeria will compete in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.
