Raphael Onyedika was forced off injured during Club Brugge’s 2-1 loss to Union St.Gilloise in their league clash on Sunday.
The Super Eagles midfielder was unable to continue the game and had to be withdrawn in the 68th minute. He was replaced by Belgian midfielder Hans Vanaken.
Club Brugge came into the game looking to climb to the top of the Belgian Pro League. But the loss saw them go four points behind Union, who remain top of the table with seven matches left to play.
Club Brugge had taken the lead in the 15th minute through Brandon Mechele. But the hosts came from behind to secure their sixth consecutive league victory.

Mateo Biondic leveled the score line in the 29th minute, making it 1-1, before substitute Besfort Zeneli scored the winning goal for his side few minutes after Onyedika was substituted.
The victory takes Union St.Gilloise to 42 points while Club Brugge remain second with 38 points. The league leaders will face Gent in their next game on Wednesday while Brugge will be desperate to return to winning ways when they host KV Mechelen on the same day.
The club will be hoping Onyedika‘s injury is not as serious as they seek to mount a title challenge in the final weeks of the campaign.
