Wilfred Ndidi has penned an emotional farewell to Leicester City and their fans after completing a permanent move to Turkish Süper Lig side Beşiktaş.
The 28-year-old spent eight and a half years with the Foxes after joining from Belgian side Genk in December 2017. Once regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, Ndidi was part of Leicester’s highs and lows, including their relegation from the top flight.
He played a key role in helping the team return to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season, providing five assists in 28 league games. But despite his efforts, Leicester couldn’t hold on to their top-flight status and were relegated again.

Ndidi made 303 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists. In his farewell message, the Super Eagles midfielder thanked the club, the fans, and his teammates for the warmth and love he received over the years.
“Thank you, Leicester City, for the love, memories, and opportunity to grow—on and off the pitch,” Ndidi wrote on Instagram.
“Lifting the FA Cup, fighting every game, and feeling your support has meant the world to me. To the fans, teammates, staff—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Once a Fox, always a Fox.”
The Nigeria international completed his medical on Thursday and was officially unveiled by Beşiktaş on Friday after all the paperwork was signed by both clubs and the player.
