Nigeria international Victor Osimhen says winning the Italian Serie A with Napoli after a 33-year wait is one of the happiest moment of his career.
Even days after the trophy presentation, the people of Naples are still immersed in the blissful atmosphere of their championship triumph. It was a well-deserved victory for Napoli, as they had been yearning for this glory for 13 long years, falling short on multiple occasions. However, this season, thanks to the inspirational performances of Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, they finally managed to secure the coveted title.
Kvaratskhelia received the honour of being named the league’s most valuable player, while Osimhen was recognized as the best striker. Kim Min-jae earned the accolade of best defender, and their manager, Luciano Spalletti, was rightfully acknowledged as the coach of the season.
Osimhen concluded the season with an impressive tally of 26 goals, earning him the golden boot and making him the first African player to achieve such a feat. Additionally, this triumph also marked his first senior-level trophy.
