The President of Sunshine Stars Football Club, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, has revealed why the club has temporarily relocated to Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode.
This move is due to ongoing renovations and upgrades at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the team’s traditional home.
Ologunloluwa acknowledged the disappointment that this change might cause for fans who are accustomed to watching matches in Akure. However, he assured supporters that the temporary relocation is necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Ondo State Sports Complex.
The President expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season, regardless of the change in venue. He emphasized the club’s commitment to fielding a competitive squad capable of challenging for the league title.
Ologunloluwa also commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his support of sports development in the state. He highlighted the Governor’s approval for the renovation of the Ondo State Sports Complex as a significant step towards improving sporting facilities in the region.
Sunshine Stars is set to kick off their 2024/25 season with a home match against Bayelsa United at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium.
