‎Victor Osimhen has responded to Galatasaray’s heavy 4-1 defeat against Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig, calling on his teammates to stay focused on their title objective. The Nigerian striker spoke after the clash at the Canik 19 May Stadium, where the visitors lost control despite taking an early lead.

‎The forward remains central to Galatasaray’s campaign this season. He has delivered 20 goals and eight assists in 32 matches across all competitions. In the Super Lig alone, he has recorded 18 goal contributions in just 18 starts. He also influenced this game early, setting up Yunus Akgün’s ninth-minute opener before the momentum shifted.

‎Galatasaray started with intent and took the lead inside nine minutes. Osimhen created the opening goal with a precise assist. However, the contest quickly turned against the visitors as Samsunspor responded with intensity.

‎The match became more difficult in the second half. A misplaced back pass from Osimhen contributed to a critical moment that led to goalkeeper Günay Güvenç receiving a red card. From that point, Galatasaray struggled to contain the hosts, who capitalised on their numerical advantage.

‎Despite the result, Osimhen refused to dwell on the setback. He stressed the importance of shifting attention to the next match, where Galatasaray can still secure the league title.

‎“Let’s not get stuck on this game. We have to keep going,” Victor Osimhen said via Fotomac.

‎”We need to win at home and declare the championship. Nothing has changed. The team will give everything. We’ll focus on the next match.”

‎He also admitted the team did not perform to the required level and acknowledged the disappointment among supporters.

‎“We knew it wouldn’t be that easy to win the title here. We didn’t play well either. We will win our next match at home and officially secure the championship. We apologise to the fans. We will look ahead,” he added.

‎Galatasaray entered the fixture with hopes of sealing a record 26th Super Lig title but must now wait. The focus shifts to their next home game, where victory would confirm their dominance this season.

‎For Osimhen, the message remains clear: maintain belief, respond strongly, and finish the job.
