Venezia coach Giovanni Stroppa has identified the areas Akor Adams must improve. The Super Eagles striker featured in Wednesday’s 2-1 Coppa Italia defeat to Udinese, Bold Sports reports.

‎Adams started his Venezia career with two goals and an assist. He produced that display in the 3-2 win over Modena. Since then, however, he has failed to score in three straight matches. He started against Lecce and AC Milan before making a late appearance against Udinese.

‎The Nigerian forward entered the Udinese game in the 82nd minute. He replaced Lion Lauberbach. Adams had little time to change the outcome.

‎Still, Stroppa remains positive about his qualities. The Venezia boss also sees areas where the striker can grow.

‎“Under the technical aspect, there is always room for improvement. On the tactical aspect, he makes the first pressure, goes deep and goes at the goal: he is definitely a good player”

‎Stroppa’s assessment points to two key areas. Adams must continue developing technically. He must also improve his tactical understanding.

‎The coach also praised the other Venezia forwards. Rrahmani and Lauberbach created chances against Udinese. They also caused problems for the Italian side.

‎“Let’s not forget Rrahmani and Lauberbach: today they still created many opportunities and bothered Udinese.”

‎Adams arrived at Venezia with significant expectations. The club signed him from Sevilla during the summer. He has already shown his attacking quality in Italy.

‎His debut against Modena remains the clearest example. Adams scored twice and supplied an assist.

‎However, Venezia have struggled since that victory. They lost 2-0 to Lecce in their Serie A opener. They then suffered another 2-0 defeat against AC Milan.

‎The Udinese loss extended that difficult run. Vakoun Issouf Bayo scored twice for the hosts. Richie Sagrado had earlier put Venezia ahead.

‎Adams will now look to regain his scoring touch. Venezia need greater attacking output as they continue their Serie A campaign.

‎The striker also has an important international period ahead. Nigeria will begin preparations for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers later this month.

‎Venezia’s next challenge comes away to Frosinone on Sunday. Adams will hope for another opportunity to lead the attack. More importantly, he will want to turn Stroppa’s technical and tactical advice into performances on the pitch.
