The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a 3-1 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in their second friendly game on Tuesday ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Cameroon had defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the first friendly game at the Military Stadium, Yaoundé, on Saturday. However, this time, the 10-time African Champions showed their quality, getting an impressive win over their opponents on their turf.
The Indomitable Lionesses stunned the Super Falcons with an early goal, taking the lead on the afternoon. However, Madugu’s side responded well and leveled the score line in the 32nd minute as Chiwendu Ihezuo rose highest to head home a brilliant cross from Rinsola Babajide, making it 1-1.
Nigeria then took the lead in the 43rd minute. This time, Babajide was the goalscorer, finding the net after a scramble in the box to make it 2-1 going into halftime.

Few minutes after the hour mark, the Super Falcons extended their lead as Michelle Alozie headed the ball in after a pinpoint cross from captain Rasheedat Ajibade, sealing the 3-1 victory.
With the friendly double-header now out of the way, both sides will aim to finalise their preparations in the coming days ahead of the WAFCON in Morocco, scheduled for 17th March – 3rd April 2026.
10-time champions Nigeria will contest in Group C of the tournament alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi, with their first match coming up against Malawi on 18th March in Casablanca.
2016 runners-up Cameroon are up against Ghana, Mali and debutants Cape Verde in Group D, with their first match against Mali on 18th March in Fes.
