Nigeria’s Super Falcons have announced a 23-player squad for next month’s international friendly matches against Senegal as preparations continue for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Nigeria Football Federation released the squad with several high-profile stars from clubs across Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa earning invitations. The two matches against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses will serve as key tests for the reigning African champions before the continental tournament.
Several players arrive in camp after impressive seasons with their respective clubs. Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala recently completed another strong campaign with Al Hilal, while Jennifer Echegini and Rasheedat Ajibade featured prominently for Paris Saint-Germain.
Toni Payne also enjoyed regular game time with Everton, and Chiamaka Nnadozie secured a move to Brighton & Hove Albion after establishing herself as one of Africa’s leading goalkeepers.
Head coach Justin Madugu has retained a blend of experience and emerging talent for the double-header against Senegal.
Veterans such as Oshoala, Francisca Ordega, Halimatu Ayinde, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, and Ajibade headline the squad. They are joined by established internationals including Toni Payne, Christy Ucheibe, Jennifer Echegini, and Gift Monday.
The squad also offers opportunities for players who have impressed at club level, including Folashade Ijamilusi, Omorinsola Babajide, Blessing Nkor, and Joy Omewa.
Nigeria and Senegal will meet twice during the international window. The first encounter is scheduled for June 5, while the second fixture will take place three days later.

The friendlies provide the Super Falcons with a valuable opportunity to build momentum and strengthen combinations before the start of WAFCON 2026, where Nigeria will aim to defend its status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
