Sulaiman Shehu, a promising young midfielder from the Stars Builders Academy in Nigeria, has completed a transfer to Finnish top-division side Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK).
The 18-year-old has joined the Finnish club after catching the eye of several European teams during his time with the Stars Builders Academy.
Shehu, born on May 10, 2006, has been a standout performer for the Stars Builders Academy, even serving as the team’s young vice-captain. His impressive development within the Nigerian club’s setup has now earned him a chance to take the next step in his career by securing a professional contract with SJK.
“Sulaiman Shehu’s move to Finland is huge for us because it underlines our efforts as an Academy as heading towards the right direction,” said Stars Builders Academy CEO Ayodeji Adegbenro.
“Sulaiman is just one of the many bright talents at our disposal and it gives a great deal of encouragement to see that European clubs were falling head over heels for the lad. He has a bright future ahead of him and we are confident SJK will be a good springboard for him.”
Shehu has already joined up with SJK’s B team and is expected to gradually integrate into the first-team setup in the coming weeks.
